About Us
Steaming It in the Park started in Roslindale in 2013 and is run out of the BCYF Menino Community Center and administered by the Archdale Community Center Council. In 2014 a site was added in Mattapan and in 2015 one in Jamaica Plain.
Participating families and neighbors have the opportunity to experience STEAM together in an innovative, interactive, fun way. This makes sophisticated concepts interesting and sparks more enthusiasm for delving into STEAM subjects in the future. They will also get the opportunity to meet up with old and new neighborhood friends.
Youth staff have a chance to give back directly to their community and see how their involvement can make a difference.
We have a key partnership with the South End Technology Center's Learn2Teach, Teach2Learn program. We have received funding from John Hancock's MLK Summer Scholars program, and the John and Patricia Nguyen Fund.
